But to stay sad would be doing her a disservice. There is a Deanna-sized hole in all of our hearts that may never properly heal. She was a ballerina at heart, as reflected by the way she danced in all of our lives. She was full of grace, grew to be fiercely independent, and had style so divine that her granddaughters fought over her hand-me-downs. She filled her days with infectious laughter, socializing with loved ones, going to the theater and live performances (seeing Elvis on his first tour - yes, she screamed!), collecting and appreciating art, spending time on the beach (or at the bar!) in Mexico, getting lost in good books, seeing movies with friends, jamming to loud music, working on crossword puzzles, and spoiling Mo- the cat who could be tamed only by her. She was a classy babe who enjoyed the finer things in life. She put thought and care into everything she did. And who could forget the Nebraska Cornhusker games - the only time children were told to leave the room.ĭeanna's outlook on life was that if it's not fun, don't do it. Despite every obstacle thrown at her (and we all know there were plenty) she stayed positive and strong, and focused on her favorite things in life: family, friends, and her faith. In a world where everyone is quick to judge, she opened her arms and embraced us with love. In a world where everyone is quick to talk, she stayed silent and listened. Deanna had a way of slowing down the world to reveal the important things in life. Words are too limiting for a love so huge. She worked with and met so many wonderful people who she cherished dearly and viewed as family. ![]() After a brief time in Cedar Rapids and Glenwood, IA, and a decade in Omaha, NE, Deanna and her family moved to Loveland, CO in 1977.ĭeanna had a long and fulfilling career in real estate with the teams at Moore and Company and later The Group, Inc. She married Thomas Fink in June of 1959 and together they had two children, Tom, Jr. Deanna grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1958.
